Monfalcone port traffic confirms the positive trend recorded from the
beginning of the year 2007 with a total traffic of 2,455,187 t that is a
10% rise against the first six months of 2006 (2,350,790 t).
The excellent results of dry bulks (+11%) and general cargo (+11%) are the
reason for this trend.
Actually the liquid bulk tonnage handled with 83,969 t at the end of June
2007, decreased by 95.055 t against the first six months of 2006, that is
a 12% decrease. The first six months of 2007 were also positive for row
materials (+48%), siderurgical products (+25%), cereals (+14%), coal
(+9%), cellulose (+3%).
The car-terminal (managed by Cetal srl) has given satisfaction as the
numbers of cars has increased by +9% to 35,824 against 32,722 in 2006.
